On Friday September 20, 2002 on the First Annual "Sam Sirianni Day" the Football Field at Edison Stadium was officially proclaimed Sam Sirianni Field. The Green Wave Defeated Lehigh 34-28 for their first victory ever on Sam Sirianni Field.
The Sam Sirianni Memorial entrance at Edison Stadium was dedicated on Friday September 5 vs Lehigh as the Green Wave won 14-7.
